New Director at The Learning Center of NEA – Dr. Lynn Cooper
Welcome to TLC! Lynn comes to The Learning Center with 27 years of experience in the world of special education and related services. She has worked as a special education teacher, section 504 coordinator, assistant principal, and special education director. Her experience has allowed her to become certified and trained in many areas such as autism assessments, discrete trial training, dyslexia assessments, and as a dyslexia therapist. While working in public schools, she has worked with physical and occupational therapists, speech therapists, and mental health professionals to provide related services to promote the greatest potential for children with disabilities. She has led many teachers over the years as a special education director ensuring that the students and families are provided with the best educational and therapy services available.
Lynn has a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, a Master’s Degree in Special Education Administration, and a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership all from Arkansas State University. She has continued to learn and grow in her profession as an advocate for individuals with disabilities. As a community advocate, she has served on the board of directors for the Autism Association of Northeast Arkansas and the Arkansas Center for Independence.
