Kristen graduated from Ouachita Baptist University with a Bachelors’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in May 2007. She then attended Arkansas State University where she graduated with a Masters of Communication Disorders in December 2008. Kristen recently began doing home-based therapy in the community and loves interacting with the families to encourage carry-over at home. She enjoys working with children autism as well as children with feeding difficulties. Kristen likes using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), specifically LAMP/Words for Life, and also incorporates a lot of sensory play to encourage communication. Kristen loves to see language come alive in a child. She believes seeing children play, make eye contact, and enjoy another person’s company, sometimes for the first time, is very fulfilling. Kristen is a member of Journey Church where she serves on the Women’s Ministry team. She believes God has given her a unique connection and love for children at The Learning Center, as well as a desire to see them grow and learn. Kristen also enjoys being active, spending lots of time with her beautiful nieces, and traveling.
