The Learning Center’s Diagnostic and Resource Center is committed to providing quality services for children 2-18. The Diagnostic Center provides comprehensive psychological evaluations upon referral.
If you are concerned that your child may have autism, ADHD, ODD, dyslexia, or an intellectual disability, you must first speak to your child’s pediatrician about your concerns for their development.
The physician may make referrals for evaluations by faxing the referral to 870-336-0598. If you have questions, you may call (870) 335-2240.
Dr. Mike Davis, Child Psychologist
Dr. Mike Davis joined The Learning Center of Northeast Arkansas, Inc in August of 2021 after 13 years with Families, Inc and four years with the Child and Youth Development Center in Jonesboro.
Dr. Davis is an Arkansas State University graduate who received his Bachelor of Science degree in psychology in 1997 and earned his Ph.D. at the University of Central Arkansas in 2004.
His expertise includes psychotherapy, outcomes research, brief solution-based therapy, and pediatric bipolar disorders.
He provides extensive psychological testing to assist with diagnoses and treatments and also lectures on various topics, such as the importance of psychological testing and psychotherapy outcomes research in mental healthcare and on different mental health diagnoses.
Dr. Davis and his wife Laura have two children, Lance and Molly.
Lesli Baltz is an Arkansas State University graduate who earned her bachelors' degree in Social Work degree in 2003, followed by a Master's in Social Work from UALR in 2006, and a Specialist in Education in Psychology & Counseling from ASU in 2010.
Lesli has 18 years of experience working in various settings, including residential treatment, day treatment, outpatient counseling services, and school-based mental health and assessment. She holds clinical social worker, psychological examiner-independent, and school psychology specialist licenses.
In addition, Lesli is working toward obtaining her infant mental health certification. Lesli was a member of the Global Volunteers humanitarian project to a Romanian orphanage in 2006 and a member of the Athletes in Action mission trip to Kenya & Ethiopia in 2001.
She served on the board for Court Appointed Special Advocates in Northeast Arkansas and opened her home as a foster parent in 2013.
Lesli and her husband, Derek, have two children, Alice and Allan. They love spending their time together traveling, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, providing respite care to foster parents, and cheering for the Red Wolves.
